Hitting the front page of almost every newspaper and web news page today are pictures of Lady GaGa wearing this extraordinary Atsuko Kudo latex ensemble which was commissioned for her performance at the 2009 Royal Variety Performance. As is traditional this performance is usually attended by the Queen and this year was no exception.
We had a ball making this very special outfit and Lady G seemed to have fun too and it seems, from her smile that on this occasion HRH was amused!

This year’s Classic Rock Awards were once again held at the Park Lane Hotel here in London and as last year, Atsuko Kudo was invited to dress the hostesses in themed ensembles especially for the occasion. The event as usual featured a very high ‘Rock Star Quotient’ and some of those famous faces paraded with the AK models on the red carpet.
Slash and Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top were amongst the award winners who were very happy to accompany our lovely ladies whilst Iggy Pop and Ronnie Wood also received prizes for decades of ROCK – though they both had girlfriends with them!!

....I'm not alone of course. Only a few weeks ago, Kelly Brook turned up to our Men Of The Year awards wearing a rubber bondage dress by so-hot-right-now European Fetish Award-winner, Atsuko Kudo. Her sudden popularity is testament enough to this societal penchant for all things sex. I for one enjoy the way these clothes make me feel. Sexy yet hard. Female yet self-sufficient. Talk to us if you dare, gentlemen, but there's a distinct possibility we'll stand on your testicles...."

We were very happy to learn that Atsuko Kudo items graced the cover shot of the newly launched French Grazia on only it’s 2nd week of publication. Apparently Paris has many posters and billboards of the image with our lovely leopard print latex as they are running a big campaign on this. After huge success in the UK we hope that their commitment to latex action gives them similar success in France!

We suspect that nobody was more surprised, (make that shocked) than everyone here at AK Towers, to find ourselves feted by the Daily Mail!
Kelly Brook’s GQ Awards appearance in our pink lace Juliet dress has sparked a debate in the Mail’s ‘Femail’ section about the pros and cons of latex fashion, during which they had some very nice words to say about our head designer, Atsuko and in which they have shown one or two of our more outre pictures!
Just goes to show – you never can tell what’s round the next corner!
------------------
Lady GaGa even had time to demo some new pieces for us on her travels! Here she’s at the MTV awards in the fabulous Diana Lace Waspie and with a certain Ms Ciccone wearing our new and very lush Ladies Driving Gloves.
Atsuko Kudo produced a range of subtly coloured leg wear for John Rocha’s show at the recent London Fashion Week. These included semi trans pink ankle socks and flesh coloured knee highs as well as full length stockings. This very beautiful and delicate collection for Spring/Summer 2010 clearly illustrated that latex items can work well in subdued tones and when teamed with very fine fabrics.
All of the legwear is available in our online boutique in these gentle hues and of course in the full range of AK colours and prints.

Only a few days after her triumphant Glastonbury show Lady GaGa totally rocked London’s Gay Pride by blasting out a killer show at G-A-Y on Pride night. Here at AK we got a call to fit the very talented and very latex friendly Lady G at her Wembley show with Take That on the afternoon in question! Little did we know that when we arrived at the stadium we’d be coming up with another custom outfit to be worn that night in London’s (in) famous Heaven nightclub, current home to the legendary G-A-Y parties. But that’s exactly how it panned out....
Not only was the outfit a further variation on the ‘red latex with mucho spikes theme’ first sported at Glasto but this time it was done even more to the max - more spikes, more studs and the additional feature of latex epaulettes with chains. Lady G also re-ran our beige/flesh lingerie set for an adoring and packed crowd of G-A-Y revellers and proceeded to raise the roof with anthem after anthem. She then partied into the night (you guessed it – in AK latex!) and was apparently up in front of the cameras for some of the fash mags first thing next morning (yes, you guessed it – wearing yet more AK latex!). Whilst some celebs might be accused of dabbling with our favourite fetish fabric we can assure everyone first hand that Lady G is totally the real deal when it comes to burning rubber. In her words she “loves it”! Go Ga Ga!....Go girl!

Tim Soar, with the help of latex experts Atsuko Kudo has refined latex into something that drapes and moves for his A/W 09 collection. Tailored latex jackets and matching flat front trousers that are fully lined means that the fetish connontations are taken down a notch. Atsuko Kudo who is known for her latex technical finesse has been building collections of dresses, suits, lingerie and accessories and this will be her first foray into menswear perhaps opening up a whole new niche. We speak to Tim Soar and find that These New Puritans are already onboard for Soar’s latex offerings…
Dazed Digital: What gave you the idea to use this particular kind of latex in your collection and to work with Atsuko Kudo?
Tim Soar: This was an idea that Jodie Barnes, my stylist, and I developed. We wanted a slightly dark/fetish feel for AW 09. And latex seemed the obvious choice.
Jodie had worked with Atsuko before, so she was top of the list. If you want top quality latex garments you go to Atsuko, it is as simple as that.
DD: What did you learn from Atsuko Kudo about the complexities of couture latex?
Tim Soar: Ah, well... that is it not like normal fabric. You have to approach it in a slightly different way. It sits and hangs in a very different way to woven fabric. You have to use totally different construction techniques. Finally, you can't have any ease in the patterns, that is you can push and stretch it in the same way as woven fabric, which makes it a challenge for tailoring, because tailoring is all about pushing, stretching and moulding the fabric. This is where Atsuko's great experience, patience and skill came in. To paraphrase Sandra Bernhart, without her it would have been nothing. Finally, an unexpected by-product of using latex for tailoring was how amazingly it moves. It shimmers like a very sexy jelly.
DD: How do you think tailored latex will be embraced by menfolk?
Tim Soar: The lovely model George from These New Puritans was asking if I would do some for stage wear for the band - George, if you are reading this, the answer is "Yes" - which was nice. In general, I suspect it will be, shall we say, niche…

For the recent London Fashion Week, Atsuko Kudo collaborated with stylish menswear label Soar (for a show styled by Jodie Barnes) to produce the tailored and lined pieces in the pictures below. We have an increasing amount of menswear at our London store though not yet on our website. We hope to have the menswear section live very soon but in the meantime if you aren’t able to visit us here then please call or email for details of what’s currently available.
Last Friday 13th February saw the Prada flagship store in New York launch Fashion Week with a ‘re-mixed’ look created by W magazine fashion editor, Alex White. Alex chose to use some Atsuko Kudo leopard print socks and stockings to give some extra va-va-voom to some of the mannequins! One of our favourite AK models, Darenzia, was in attendance at the party - resplendent in Atsuko Kudo lace print - and as a result hitting the pages of Fashion Week Daily (see below).

Atsuko Kudo/Hello KittyAtsuko Kudo/Mac Cosmetics
MAC cosmetics and Hello Kitty have joined forces to create a special range of Hello Kitty themed make up. Here at Atsuko Kudo we were happy to be commissioned to make some of the clothing for the models in the launch campaign. The images are styled by uber stylist, Katy England and photographed by the ever envelope pushing Nick Knight. Having happily made a specially styled catsuit and a variety of accessories and bows we are now very pleased to see the full effect in these pictures.
If you’d like to order a catsuit just like the one in the video and pictures – you know where we live!

Lady Gaga in Atsuko Kudo Rosette Hat
Perez Hilton comments
2009 pop sensation Lady GaGa recently spent a night on the London party circuit head to toe in Atsuko Kudo latex. Aswell as many of the tabloids, celebrity gossip blogger, Perez Hilton ran the story and approved of her 'PVC' outfit - though he seemed to be very concerned about her wearing it in the cold London weather!
We’re happy she gave everyone a sneak preview of one of our new items – the Rosette hat which is already available in our London store and will be in the online shop soon as part of our new collection for 2009.

Atsuko Kudo Stockings in IcebergCool clothing label Iceberg recently ran one of their
ads using some AK aqua/turquoise stockings.
We liked the image so here it is!
We are very happy to say that Atsuko Kudo has made the cover of Spanish Elle’s website this week! Please click the picture above for some shots of a lovely article – we hope to have a translation from the Spanish very soon!

Showgirls in Time Out
For all of you in London over the next week or two (or planning a visit in the future) please check out a lovely piece on Atsuko Kudo and our store, Showgirls Latex Boutique in Time Out's special 'Sex' issue out now! ‘The Harvey Nicks of fetish’ is perhaps a little on the strong side ..... so now we are blushing here at AK Towers! Maybe it's time for that Xmas tipple...

Grace Jones at the European MTV awards
Grace Jones continued to wow and dazzle this week at the European MTV awards – again wearing Atsuko Kudo knuckle gloves, stockings and briefs along with a very sparkly Philip Treacy Hat!

Grace Jones wears Atsuko Kudo on Jools Holland's Later
The fabulous Grace Jones appeared on Jools Holland's 'Later' on both Tuesday 28th and Friday 31st October sporting much of the Atsuko Kudo latex she was wearing in the previous weekend's Sunday Times Style magazine. She did two songs ,'William's Blood' and 'Slave to the Rhythm' on Tuesday and added 'Pull Up To The Bumper' and 'Love You To Life' to 'Williams Blood' on Friday.
Though she swapped her Philip Treacy hats around for the different songs and changed from Mayake to McQueen from track to track she stayed with the latex throughout all performances giving us an awesome display of stockings, knickers and gloves action! This being particularly impressive for a lady who, dare we say it, is in the full bloom of her years!
If you missed the shows you may well still be able to watch them on the BBC iplayer. Or You Tube!
Latex aside, the performances she gave on all songs were quite astounding and bodes very well for her forthcoming tour so if you have tickets (and some of us here at AK Towers do!) that's really something to relish.
Watch on You Tube: 'William's Blood'
'Love You To Life'
'Pull Up To The Bumper'

Ozzy Osbourne and Slash served afternoon tea by Atsuko Kudo French Maid
Rock stars Ozzy Osbourne and Slash were recently served afternoon tea by lovely Atsuko Kudo French Maid, Amy. This little break from rockin' and rollin' took place in a very famous London Hotel which requested we didn't mention their name - we're not sure if they thought something untoward was going on but it seems quite clear to us that both Ozzy and Slash are being the perfect gentlemen - well we can certainly see that their hands are full! As these pics appeared in many of the tabloids the next day maybe the editors spotted something we didn't - it all looks very proper and above board to us!
Ozzy and Slash were in London for the Classic Rock awards which they attended later the same day.
Atsuko Kudo hostesses at the Classic Rock Awards
When the organisers of the Classic Rock Awards called us to dress the hostesses of the event we were very pleased to be able to assist. Karen and Kristine guided many a seasoned rocker to their seats and gave them a helping hand up to the stage to receive their awards. Aswell as Ozzy and Slash, awards were won and presented by Jeff Beck, Ron Wood, MC5 (presented by Primal Scream), by Jack Bruce of Cream and David Coverdale of Whitesnake amongst many more. Much champagne was consumed and pretty much everything was cranked up to ‘11’! Phew, Rock ‘n’ Roll!

Grace Jones wears Atsuko Kudo in Sunday Times
Comeback queen Grace Jones is resplendent in this weeks Sunday Times Style Magazine in an Atsuko Kudo under bust corset, bra, stockings, G-string and knuckle gloves! The legendary Miss Jones is riding the crest of a new wave of appreciation and popularity right now and we are totally bowled over that we were able to help dress her in the inimitable style for which she is feted. From where we're sitting her always ice cool music mixed with that true X factor and maverick approach to the business of show, means she knocks so many of today's less than rock 'n' roll stars into the proverbial, cocked (Philip Treacy!) hat. And produces the effect a proper pop star should have - incandescence!

Atsuko Kudo Couture LatexFor this year's Skin Two Rubber Ball Atsuko Kudo was asked to design a complete ensemble for the Empress of the Ball.
We decided to create the black/white leopard print and diamante look shown in this lovely picture shot at the Ball by Cassandra Tiffin-Lavers. What you can't see is that this is a floor length gown with fishtail hem – a new addition to the AK collection.
The diamante elements are also new to our range and include pasties, choker, bracelets and earrings – all lovingly applied to latex!

Up market South Californian lifestyle publication Genlux recently ran a nice piece on Atsuko Kudo which had some very kind words...please see below.
Atsuko Kudo featured in Gen Lux
Here is a very nice article recently published in Polish style magazine A4. We felt they made some interesting points and are glad that the AK philosophy is being described in Polish. We are also glad that they kindly translated it into English as our Polish is not so good! Click the picture below to view...
Atsuko Kudo Couture Latex
Atsuko Kudo latex knickers on the Milan catwalk for Fendi! If you look really closely at the pictures left you'll perhaps be able to see that the models are wearing Atsuko Kudo lace print Betty Shorts! That's because here at AK we were recently commissioned by Fendi (under the auspices of creative director, Karl Lagerfeld) to supply a good number of that item in a range of colours for the Spring/Summer 2009 collection, shown at Milan fashion week.
Beneath swathes of chiffon and a range of other very beautiful sheer fabrics there are little flashes of lace print latex in yellows and blues and whites. Very subtle, very elegant and very Milano ....
Vidal Sassoon are currently using the image below as part of their Chimera Autumn/Winter campaign. The model is actually wearing a fully lace printed Atsuko Kudo Joy Dress which they commissioned from us especially for the project. It's nice to know that in a Sassoon hair salon somewhere near you there's a little latex action going on!
Hot on the heels of the Stephen Meisel shoot of Eva Mendes for Italian Vogue and proof positive that for now at least we truly are 'en vogue' comes with the news that Atsuko Kudo is currently featured across 12 pages of editorial in the June/July issue of French Vogue!
Admittedly, for the most part our Parisian friends have used the same two pencil skirts with lace print (along with some of our berets and cincher belts) but nevertheless we feel suitably honoured that this shoot, styled by Carine Roitfeld, Editor-in Chief and widely regarded as a total fashion doyen, is using AK clothing so beautifully.
Shot in moody monochrome in Mont St. Michel by ace photographer Patrick Demarchelier the shoot combines AK garments and hats with items from Prada, Commes des Garcons, Givenchy and Marc Jacobs to name(drop!) a few. Carine (as we now like to call her!) is often cited as one of the world's most influential and fashionable women so the thrill is doubled when the clothes are selected and styled by a woman who not only talks the talk but also knows how to walk the walk!
Enchantant!

We are feeling very honoured and flattered here at Atsuko Kudo right now as we recently learned that we are the very first winners of the inaugral European Fetish Award for Design.
The award was given at a ceremony during the Berlin Fetish Ball and was voted for by a panel of very well respected judges from across the European fetish press and industry. We are of course very happy that they voted for us but even more thrilled that they have recognised the work done at the label.
We would like to say a big thank you not only to the organisers and jury of the European Fetish Awards but also to everyone who has worked with us at Atsuko Kudo. This includes the very talented people who work at the label both in our design studio, on our web shop and at our boutique in London. It also includes the incredible work contributed by all of the photographers, stylists, models, make up and hair artists and other creatives who have been involved with us too.
And last but certainly not least we want to express thanks to all of our customers, who are the most creative people and are a constant inspiration.
Respect is due to one and all.
We are thrilled to announce that super sultry Hollywood actress Eva Mendes appears in the current (May '08) issue of Italian Vogue resplendent in Atsuko Kudo latex and shot by the fabulous Steven Meisel who is particularly known for his high fashion work in US and Italian Vogue and for his photographs of Madonna in her 1992 'Sex' book.
Steven and fashion editor Andrew Richardson have created some beautiful images showing just why Eva is a very much a star in the ascendant. After her appearances in such blockbusters as Training Day, Ghost Rider, Once Upon a Time in Mexico and Hitch, Eva has recently been chosen as the new model for Calvin Klein lingerie. We're just pleased she could show the world how much she rocks in latex lingerie first!
It's not too often that magazines print two separate covers for one issue but that's exactly what Bizarre magazine did for it’s February 2008 edition.
Bizarrely, both covers feature Atsuko Kudo latex!

Some of you clubbing kids may have already noticed that we've been dressing the Luchadoras - Maz and Bizy at the latest of London's 'out there' nights out -Lucha Brittania. Think Mexican wrestling meets burlesque and you'll have some idea of how it feels!
Suffice to say the girls make a beautiful splash in their themed red and light blue AK ensembles providing the necessary femininity to keep the testosterone levels within the required safety limits!

Atsuko Kudo put the finishing touches to Karen Brosts’ Debut collection for A/W 2008/09 at London Fashion Week with a selection of delightful millinery. More names, more names:..

Max Factor's latest ad campaign features our very own Atsuko Kudo. Appearing in February's V Magazine amongst many others this double page glossy ad presented our knuckle glove with bow as the predominant highlight... apart, that is from the divine Carmen Electra!
We just had to include this rather blurry and beautifully trashy (sorry girls!) shot of two of our favourite models, Valeria and October Noir, sporting Atsuko Kudo ensembles at the after party for the recent Brits awards. Looks like both of these lovely ladies want to be in the driving seat! And who would possibly want to deny them the honour? Go faster girls! Go faster!
Thanks to Chloe Kerman and Studio 88 we are proud to announce that Atsuko Kudo's transparent flesh colour high neck top (which together with Prada's fabulous top) features as the current front cover image of Tank magazine Volume 5, Issue 2. With it’s bubble gum colours, it’s a sure fire winner for Spring/Summer ‘08 trends.
The article ‘New Clear Summer’ features AK latex along side many more names, names, names darling!

Sometime in the middle of the blur that was last year, we seemed to ‘get the call from Hollywood’.
We were commissioned to dress sexy Hollywood actress Tia Carrera, who featured in blockbuster films such as True Lies (Arnold Schwarzenegger), Rising Sun (Sean Connery) and Wayne’s World (Mike Myers), for an episode of hit show Nip/Tuck .
Though Atsuko is more known for her very lady like ensembles with lace prints, special trims and couture millinery she dressed Ms.Carrera’s character ,‘Mistress Dark Pain’ (!) in, appropriately, a black version of her Kudo-esque aesthetic.
Proving that a lady can be both beautiful, elegant and very fierce, especially when properly attired, Tia stars in some pretty hardcore scenes involving fishing tackle and …well…nipples.

Now we have your attention! Well of course sex sells and it's always an even more appealing proposition when it involves the phenomenon that's Kate Moss.
In this case it's an Atsuko Kudo Cincher Belt worn over some slinky chiffon from her eponymous range for Top Shop alongside some lovely leather thigh high boots from Alexander McQueen.

GMTV This happened a while back but here it is!
Lorraine Kelly introduced a fashion vt featuring a host of labels (Vivienne Westwood, Agnes B, Alexander McQueen) including our own. And all a bit arty and raunchy for 9 in the morning on gmtv, but it was shot in a rock 'n rock hotel room, frequented by the Rolling Stones!
Helena Bonham Carter One of our most original, bohemian and fabulous actresses, Helena Bonham
Carter is not usually associated with the delights of the garden but here she demonstrates exactly how to make everything feel like it's coming up roses by sporting an Atsuko Kudo petite hat and knuckle gloves in a very horticultural manner!
We're not sure whether her other half, film director Tim Burton was on hand or if the couple's well documented esoteric leanings have now extended to the garden but we certainly approve of divine decadence going al fresco and look forward to seeing Ms. Bonham Carter in more carefully cultivated latex.
The Inimitable Pete Burns Dead or Alive star Pete Burns went for a full on latex look when hosting Big Brother's Big Mouth recently.
Refusing to let the studio lights burn him up Pete was his usual inimitable, entertaining self, head to toe in rubber for the duration of the show. And the whole outfit was obtained from Pete's favourite rubber emporium, Showgirls on Holloway Road, London.

Seduction a celebration of sensual style by Caroline Cox
This image of the lovely Tamara dressed in Atsuko Kudo appears in the new book 'Seduction' by Caroline Cox, Professor of Cultural History at the University of Arts London.
"Atsuko Kudo's work, as photographed by Ben Westwood, exemplifies the New Burlesque look, with its mix of 1950's glamour and modern fetish in garments of lace-printed latex to be worn on stage, to a salon, or in the bedroom."
The title is lavishly illustrated throughout and is published by Mitchell Beazley

Nobyoshi Araki is arguably Japan's greatest living photographer- and certainly its most controversial.
With over 4000 images on display, the show reflects Araki's extraordinary breadth of work- from the shocking to the sublime.
Influenced by Shunga, the erotic art of the Edo period (1600-1867), as well as the glossy imagery of commercial culture, much of Araki's work confronts taboo subjects such as sex, nudity, bondage and death, head on. Subjects range from poetic scenes of old Tokyo to evocative images of exotic oriental flowers and erotic photographs of kimono-clad women bound in rope.

The private view and launch of this major exhibition took place on October 5th featuring the attendance of Araki himself (right). It was also be graced by the presence of Atsuko Kudo models in ensembles specially created for the evening. Araki san was extremely taken by Emily, Tam and Esme and they posed for the assembled media and later karaoke'd the night away in a local hotspot.

These sexy stills of Atsuko Kudo Party Girls storming the UK version of hit BBC2 show 'The Apprentice' prove the new addage that if you want to get ahead you need to get AK and get kinky! The series (and a £100,000 salaried position with Sir Alan Sugar) was won by ex-London Transport manager, Tim Campbell when he chose to stage a fashion show featuring AK girls in AK outfits aboard a river boat on the Thames.
The gorgeous Emily Marilyn, delectable Tam Noon, delicious Abigail Toyne, the irresistable Esme and the stunning DeeDee Luxe absolutely rocked the boat and caused a media sensation when these latex clad lovelies proved a prime time winner as they romped home all over the early evening schedules of BBC 2's biggest ever ratings smash.
Immodesty Blaize and Walter's Burlesque has now completed it's extended run at the Arts Theatre. Thanks for the many kind comments about the show and for your response to the divine Miss Tamara Noon who spent many of last summer's evenings resplendent in Atsuko Kudo Chantilly/bronze finery in the foyer of the theatre. Judging by your reactions she should be a permanent installation in Theatreland!
Speaking of special nights....!,The pictures below are from a recent party held to launch the new Ben Westwood book "F**k Fashion", published by the Erotic Print Society. Ben asked Atsuko Kudo to supply models and outfits for the evening held in the Zambezi Rooms at Jewel in London's Picadilly. As you can see Ben and Celebrity Big Brother winner, Bez were more than 'taken' by the assets of Sophie wearing this gorgeous baby pink Cheong Sam and matching Petite hat! A jolly good time was had by all, including Ben's mum, Vivenne and Bianca, another of our models who did manage to negotiate the steep stairs successfully whilst remaining handcuffed to a signed copy of our star photographer's latest work! "F**k Fashion" is available in good bookshops along with Ben's other publications "Ben Westwood Works" and "Ben Westwood".
It's always lovely to see the very glamourous Dita von Tease and partner Marilyn Manson gracing the red carpet. Here Dita was stepping out in Atsuko Kudo for the Metal Hammer Awards.
Previously...when photographer Ben Westwood shot Atsuko Kudo models Abigail, Tamara, Esme and Elle for Skin Two magazine he was also booked the same day to DJ at Mr. Manson's UK album launch. So Ben decided to take the ladies along and everyone sashayed into the night to the sound of Nancy Sinatra!
